It’s the big day . . . so here is my big list.  :)   Forty things I would like to do this year, at age 40.  In no particular order.  I will update this list as I complete things!

  • Learn to Knit 4/28/09
  • Blog at least twice a week.
  • Go on at least one date per month with Mike. 5/12, 6/7, 7/16, 8/8,10/24,2/5,3/20
  • Return to my yoga practice.
  • Meditate/Pray regularly.
  • Get my nose pierced. 4/9/09
  • Schedule monthly creative time. 5/12
  • Have portraits of Mike & I taken.
  • Learn CPR.
  • Learn to make soldered charms.
  • Strengthen all of my relationships.
  • Cook more often . . . and learn to enjoy it!
  • Simplify.
  • Get photos organized.
  • Hear some good live music. [Soulive -7/1, Ingrid Michaelson - 10/25]
  • Learn to take photos in manual mode. 9/12/09 (Thanks, Tracie!!)
  • Promote peace.
  • Create an art canvas. Hang it up somewhere.
  • Play the piano with regularity.
  • Keep a gratitude journal.
  • Attend a retreat. [Exuma 11/20 - 11/24]
  • Get my passport. 09/08/09
  • Sew something from a Japanese craft book.
  • Write a personal mission statement.
  • Visit NYC again with Mike.
  • Practice Extreme Self Care.
  • Spend more time outdoors.
  • Start a compost bin and/or worm farm.
  • Lose 10+ pounds. Live a healthy lifestyle and learn to love my body.
  • Choose commitments wisely.
  • Give Meghan piano lessons. (She’s taking lessons now @ school!)
  • Learn to play guitar with Reilly.
  • Write more love notes to Mike.
  • Give my family my undivided attention more often.
  • Participate in a  Complaint Free 21 days challenge.
  • Go to Door County with Mike. 8/8/09, 3/20/10
  • Spend more time with Hobbs.
  • Document favorite family stories. [Summer 09 photo book.]
  • Participate in Brené’s book read-along.5/29/09
  • Learn to make Latte Art designs
  • Fuse plastic bags & repurpose them! (This is #41 on my list, I realize!) 5/23/09

And a bonus goal:  keep a scrapbook of my 40@40 accomplishments!

    Oh, just looking at that list makes me tired. Good for you! I turn 43 (!!!) in August, I just need 5 things to improve upon this year…any more than that and I’ll need a nap LOL

    I could definitely add about 30 of these to my to do list. I probably wouldn’t add the one to go on a date with Mike at least once a month. Because I don’t know him and I think that would be awkward.

    I LOVE that list!! What a col idea!! I will have to remember to do that when I turn 43 next year!!

    Oh and you better let me know when you are going to Door County as you have to go right through Green Bay!!
